We offer two possible metal removal systems that use our patented compressed air technology: 1) a digital metal separator that receives raw material from above which passes through an electronic metal detector which generates an electrical impulse that triggers a powerful stream of air pressure that blows out the contaminated metal, and 2) a Mpulse digital metal separator that uses the latest in digital interference suppression to prevent environmental conditions from disturbing the metal detection process.

The Digital Air Metal Separator
Our standard digital drum metal separator is the best choice for protecting high quality injection molding machines. The MESEP® digital detects and separates metals from granulate free falling material. When raw granulate is drawn through a pipe line to the injection molding machine, there are several points along the way where the granulate can be contaminated by metal. If they aren't removed from the granulate, these metal parts can cause the molding machine to break down leading to expensive losses in production and poor granulate quality. Special Flap Design
When the metal separator has to sit right on the top of an injection molding machine, there are two conditions that must be compensated for: 1) when the machine is empty and the material free falls into the inlet of the machine and 2) after the machine is filled the material flows slowly and discontinuously. If either of these conditions are true, then the sensitivity level of the separator has to be high for a reliable separation of metal. To compensate for either condition, our metal separator uses a new separation flap whose surface and design are unique.

How The Digital Separator Works

Plastic raw material enters the metal separator in a vertical free fall of a maximum height of 600 mm. Once inside the housing of the separator the raw material passes an electronic metal detector. When metal is detected, an electrical impulse is sent to the computerized processor which controls a magnetic valve and a pnematic cylinder. The pneumatic cylinder is connected in the flap which changes its position after metal is detected. When the flap changes its position to a "metal detected position", the metal free raw material flows out of the side outlet flange which is connected to a box that collects the metal contaminated material. After a short separation time, the flap turns back into its original position. If your raw material is expensive, we recommend that you install a small diameter separator to make sure that the loss of metal free material is minimized.

The MPulse Air Metal Separator

The Compact Mpulse ® separator detects and separates metals from a slow vertical moving stream of matierial. When raw granulate is drawn through a pipe line to the injection molding machine, there are several points along the way where the granulate can be contaminated by metal. If they aren't removed from the granulate, these metal parts can cause the molding machine to break down leading to expensive losses in production and poor granulate quality. The Problem of Faulty Metal Detection

To reach higher levels of sensitivity and reliability than standard digital solutions, the Mpusle® comapct models uses a extremely sophisticated software that can be updated to maintain maximum levels of sensitivity. But with this increased sensitivity comes a tendency in metal separators to record metal where there is none. As the sensitivity of metal separators increases, the risk of faulty detections also rise. Depending on the software and the quality of components used, most metal separation devices can be adjusted to reduce their level of sensitivity. Our units are categorically better in so far as they use better software and componenets. All our detectors are completely filled with epoxy resin which fix the magnetic making it for reducing the mechanical vibrations of the housing. Our software makes it possible to optimize important application parameters without any adjustments to the PC board. With its new algorithm, the product effect feature doesn't make any more compensation than is necessary. Compared to other metal separators, our units can reach a much higher level of sensitivity without any increase in faulty detections.

No Calibration Required

Unlike any other metal separator on the market, our compact Mpulse detectors will last a long time under normal conditions without any further recalibrations. Since the M-Pulse models first appeared on the market, none has required any calibration. Unlike any other metal separator on the market, and if used properly, our compact mpulse models are calibration free. They will maintain their levels of sensitivity for their entire service life without any readjustments. Gradual aging of the electronic components will be automatically compensated without having to replace the components.

Self Monitoring

All of our metal detectors are equipped with self-diagnostic capabilities, which makes them less prone to breakdowns. Metal contaminated products are often shipped to a customer because a defective metal extractor has gone undetected. To minimize the risk of a malfunction, regular functional checks are highly recommended, but difficult to implement in practice. The only solution is a metal extractor with a self-diagnostic function. This self-diagnosis tests the ring detector, the function of the flaps and the evaluation electronics. If an error is noted, an acoustic or visual alarm transmitter can be generated to immediately draw the user's attention to the error.

How The Compact Mpulse Digital Separator Works

Plastic raw material enters the metal separator in a vertical free fall of a maximum height of 600 mm. Once inside the housing of the separator the raw material passes an electronic metal detector. This triggers a magnetic valve and with a powerful stream of air pressure the contaminated material is blown out. Once the separation is over, the magnetic valve closes and the blow of air stops. The outlet flange is connected to a box to collect the contaminated material.

If your raw material is expensive, we recommend that you install a small diameter separator to make sure that the loss of metal free material is minimized.
